As the name suggests, the blade of the shearing machine is used to cut the iron plate, so the hardness of the blade must be enough to cut the iron plate. Because the shearing machine blade needs frequent cutting, its wear resistance is also very important. However, the hardness and abrasion resistance of the blade of the shearing machine mainly depends on the heat treatment during processing. The higher the hardness of the blade during heat treatment, the more abrasion-resistant it will be when cutting the iron plate. But be aware that the higher the hardness, the better the blade?

Too high hardness may cause the cutting edge of the blade to become brittle, and it is easy to cause the shearing machine blade to collapse when cutting the hard or thick iron plate. Therefore, the heat treatment of the blade is the key to determine the hardness, and it also directly affects the performance of the blade.

So how is the heat treatment of the blade of the shears correct? Control of multiple tempering and holding time.

Tempering: Tempering during blade heat treatment is very critical. Multiple tempering can slow down the stress generated during processing, thereby improving the stability of the blade quality. Normal steel is generally tempered at least twice, and higher hardness steels should be tempered more than twice.

Control of time: Note that the holding time during tempering is not too short, it is generally controlled between two and three hours, and too long it is prone to collapse.

The cutting of the blade of the shearing machine is of a certain technical nature. To save costs and shorten the tempering time, the blade is prone to chipping and the quality is not up to standard. This is not desirable.

Therefore, the blade of the shearing machine is not as hard as possible, among which there are more complicated parameters that affect the overall performance of the blade. You must pay attention to these details when purchasing.
