Process: Unlike deep drawing, forming processes do not necessarily involve drawing material into a die. Instead, they may involve bending, stretching, or compressing sheet metal to achieve the desired shape.

Mechanism: Deep drawing specifically involves drawing a sheet metal blank into a die using a punch, whereas forming encompasses a broader range of processes that may involve bending, stretching, or compressing the material.
