A plasma cutting machine uses a high-velocity jet of ionized gas (plasma) to cut through electrically conductive materials. An electric arc is formed between the electrode and the workpiece, which ionizes the gas flowing through the nozzle at extremely high temperatures (up to 30,000°C). This superheated plasma melts the metal and the high-speed gas flow blows the molten material away, creating a clean and precise cut.
