Sheet Metal Machines for Construction, Curtain Walls & Interior Decoration

Curtain walls, cladding, doors and decorative interiors — precise, beautiful metal for buildings.

Curved glass and metal curtain wall facade

Construction & Architecture Basics

How Construction, Facades & Interiors Are Made

Architectural metal is made from aluminum (2–4 mm for curtain wall panels), stainless steel (1–2 mm for decorative work) and galvanized steel. Panels are laser cut or sheared, V-grooved for sharp edges, folded on press brakes or panel benders, curved on rolling machines and finished with welded corners and protected surfaces.

Visible surfaces, long panels and custom sizes are the norm, so the process must combine accuracy with careful handling and sharp, consistent edges.

Challenges & Solutions

What Matters in Construction & Architecture

  • Sharp architectural edges

V-grooving before bending gives crisp, almost radius-free corners on stainless and aluminum.

  • Long, visible panels

Crowning press brakes and panel benders keep long folds straight without marking the face.

  • Custom sizes

Laser cutting and CNC programming make one-off panels economical.

  • Curved facades

Plate rolling machines form accurate radii for curved cladding and columns.

HARSLE AutoBend panel bender

Automate Bending

Panel Bender for Construction & Architecture

A HARSLE panel bender clamps the sheet flat and forms all four sides in one cycle with universal tooling — ideal for the repeat panels, doors and boxes found in construction, facades & interiors.

  • Bending length 1400–3000 mm (AutoBend)
  • 0–180° bending angle, 0.2 s per bend
  • Minimal operator skill, fast changeovers

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about machines and processes for construction, facades & interiors.

Ask our engineers

Which machines are used to make aluminum curtain wall panels?

Panels are cut on a laser or punching machine, corner-notched, optionally V-grooved, folded on a press brake or panel bender and finished with welded or riveted corners.

What is V-grooving used for in architecture?

V-grooving removes material along the bend line so stainless and aluminum panels bend to sharp, nearly radius-free corners — the crisp look required for decorative interiors and facades.

Can HARSLE supply steel door production equipment?

Yes. HARSLE offers door production lines and hydraulic presses for embossing steel door skins, plus shearing and bending machines for frames.

How are curved facade panels made?

Curved panels are rolled on a plate rolling machine to the required radius, then trimmed and fitted with returns.
