Air Compressor

An air compressor is a device used to compress gas. Air compressors are constructed similarly to water pumps. Most air compressors are reciprocating piston, rotating vane or rotating screw.

The Main Purpose:

a. Traditional air power: pneumatic tools, rock drills, pneumatic picks, pneumatic wrenches, pneumatic sandblasting;

b. Instrument control and automation devices, such as tool replacement in machining centers;

c. Vehicle braking, doors and windows opening and closing;

d. In air-jet looms, compressed air is used to blow the weft yarn instead of the shuttle;

e. Food and pharmaceutical industries use compressed air to stir slurry;

f. Starting of large marine diesel engines;

g. Wind tunnel experiments, underground passage ventilation, metal smelting;

h. Oil well fracturing;

i. High-pressure air blasting coal mining;

j. Weapon system, missile launch, torpedo launch;

k. Submarine sinking and sinking, shipwreck salvage, seabed oil exploration, hovercraft;

l. Tire inflation;

m. Spray painting;

n. Bottle blowing machine;

o. Air separation industry;

p. Industrial control power (driving cylinder, pneumatic components);

q. Produce high-pressure air for cooling and drying of workpieces.

Noise Control

Air compressor noise control mainly adopts three aspects: muffler, muffler tunnel and sound insulation technology:

1. Install the muffler

The main noise sources are the intake and exhaust ports, and appropriate intake and exhaust mufflers should be selected. The spectrum of air compressor intake noise has low-frequency characteristics, and the intake muffler should use a resistive structure or an impedance composite structure that is mainly individual and resistive. The exhaust pressure of the air compressor is high and the air flow velocity is high. A small hole muffler should be used at the exhaust port of the air compressor.

2. Set up a silencer tunnel

Anechoic tunnels are underground or semi-underground tunnels whose walls are made of bricks with good sound absorption properties. Connect the air inlet pipe of the air compressor to the muffler tunnel so that air enters the air compressor through the muffler tunnel. The use of muffler tunnels can greatly reduce the air intake noise of the air compressor, and its service life is longer than that of ordinary mufflers.

3. Build a sound insulation cover

After installing mufflers or silencing tunnels at the inlet and exhaust ports of the air compressor, the airflow noise can be reduced to below 80db(a), but the mechanical noise and motor noise of the air compressor are still very high, so the air compressor should also be installed Install a sound insulation cover on the unit of the machine.

4. Suspended space sound absorber.

Operating Procedures

The air compressor is one of the main mechanical power equipment of many enterprises. It is very necessary to maintain the safe operation of the air compressor. Strictly implementing air compressor operating procedures will not only help extend the service life of the air compressor, but also ensure the safety of air compressor operators. Let’s take a look at the air compressor operating procedures.

a. Before operating the air compressor, you should pay attention to the following issues:

1. Keep the lubricating oil in the oil pool within the scale range. Before operating the air compressor, check that the amount of oil in the lubricator should not be lower than the scale value.

2. Check whether the moving parts are flexible, whether the connecting parts are tight, whether the lubrication system is normal, and whether the motor and electrical control equipment are safe and reliable.

3. Before operating the air compressor, check whether the protective devices and safety accessories are intact and complete.

4. Check whether the exhaust pipe is clear.

5. Connect the water source and open each water inlet valve to make the cooling water flow smoothly.

b. When operating the air compressor, please note that before starting it for the first time after being out of service for a long time, it must be cranked and checked to see if there is any impact, jamming, or abnormal noise.

Air Compressor

c. The machine must be started in a no-load state. After the no-load operation is normal, the air compressor will gradually enter load operation.

d. When operating the air compressor, after normal operation, you should always pay attention to the readings of various instruments and make adjustments at any time.

e. During operation of the air compressor, the following conditions should also be checked:

1. Whether the motor temperature is normal and whether the readings of each electric meter are within the specified range.

2. Whether the operation sound of each machine part is normal.

3. Check whether the suction valve cover is hot and whether the valve sound is normal.

4. Whether the various safety protection equipment of the air compressor are reliable.

f. After operating the air compressor for 2 hours, the oil and water in the oil-water separator, intercooler and after-cooler need to be discharged once, and the oil and water in the air storage barrel must be discharged once per shift.

d. When the following conditions are found during the operation of the air compressor, it should be stopped immediately, the cause should be identified and eliminated:

1. The lubricating oil is cut off or the cooling water is cut off.

2. The water temperature suddenly rises or drops.

3. The exhaust pressure suddenly increased and the safety valve failed.
