Sheet Metal Processing

Cold sheet metal processing is the processing of blanking, cutting, forming, connecting and other processes around raw materials such as plates, profiles and pipes. It has its own processing characteristics and characteristics, therefore, it has formed its own unique processing work content. and production processes and operating specifications.

Work Content of Sheet Metal Processing

The specific work content of sheet metal processing is related to the structure and complexity of the sheet metal component. Generally speaking, the work content and work steps mainly include the following.

1. Understand sheet metal parts drawings. Understanding part drawings is the prerequisite for sheet metal processing. Only by understanding part drawings can we further analyze the structure of the parts and understand the shape, components, dimensions and relevant technical requirements of the components, so as to carry out subsequent processing. Sheet metal part drawings are not only the basis for processing, but also the basis for product inspection. They are important technical documents in production.

2. Expand the sample. On the basis of understanding the drawings of sheet metal parts, the material type, structural characteristics, shape and size requirements of the sheet metal components should be analyzed and selected based on the manufacturing process, and the necessary process should be carried out after appropriate process treatment of the processed components. Calculation and expansion, so as to obtain the expansion diagram, expansion data, marking or inspection template of all or part of the parts accurately drawn at a 1:1 scale required in the product manufacturing process. Expanding the sample is the first process of sheet metal processing. In essence, it is also one of the tasks of formulating process regulations.

The preparation of process procedures belongs to the production technical preparation of sheet metal components, and is generally completed by engineering and technical personnel. However, in different industries and enterprises of different sizes, depending on the complexity of the components, the preparation of process procedures may be slightly different, or it may be completed by cold work sheet metal technicians or senior cold work sheet metal workers. Usually, ordinary cold work sheet metal workers often only need to complete the drawing of the unfolded sample drawings of the processed components according to the relevant technical documents such as the unfolded sample drawings, and are responsible for making sample rods, templates and other tasks.

3. Production and processing. According to relevant rice metal processing technical documents, various sheet metal processing equipment and tools are used, and various processing methods are used to manufacture products that meet the requirements of sheet metal parts drawings.

Process Flow of Sheet Metal Processing

The process flow of sheet metal processing refers to the entire process of gradually changing the shape, size, material properties or assembly and welding of parts in a certain order during the production process until sheet metal parts that meet the shape and size requirements are manufactured. For a more complex structural part, its production and processing generally need to go through many processes such as material preparation, unfolding and sampling, cutting blanks, forming and assembly, etc., and because cold sheet metal processing is often combined with welding, metal cutting, heat treatment and Inspection and other processes are combined to form a complete product manufacturing process. Therefore, the processing process often includes the above-mentioned processing steps.

The process flow is an important technical document that guides the entire parts processing process, organizes and manages production and processing. For parts processing that is not completed in one workshop or even one factory, it is an important basis for the process flow, division of labor, cooperation, and mutual connection and cooperation between workshops.

Because the process flow is the entire route specified for each component in the component from raw materials to completion of the entire component, it is also called a process route.

Process Regulations for Sheet Metal Processing

The process flow stipulates the processing flow of parts, and the specific processing content is guided and controlled by the process regulations. The process regulations are determined by the process technicians based on the requirements of the product drawings and the characteristics of the workpiece, the production batch, and the company's existing equipment and Production capacity, etc., after careful comprehensive analysis and comparison among several possible process plans, a technically feasible and economically reasonable best process plan is selected. It is a technical document that guides the production process of parts. . In the technical document, the blank used for the part and its processing method and specific processing dimensions are clarified; the nature, quantity, sequence and quality requirements of each process; the equipment models and specifications used in each process; the processing methods used in each process Tool form; quality requirements and inspection methods of each process, etc. Generally speaking, for a large and complex sheet metal structural part, sheet metal workers often need to work with the cooperation of welders, crane workers and other professional types of work. The processing process of sheet metal parts that is directly completed by pressure processing is often called stamping process; Processing processes that use welding to assemble components are often called welding processes, while assembly processes that require both mechanical processing and welding and riveting are directly called assembly processes or riveting processes. wait.

It should be noted that process procedures are not static and must be continuously improved and perfected in production practice. Their rationality is different for different enterprises, different production conditions, and even the technical levels of different operators. But a general principle is that the preparation of process procedures should ensure technological advancement, technological feasibility, and economic rationality, while maintaining good labor conditions.

The part shown in the picture is the handwheel body of a company's product. It is made of 2mm thick LF3-M. The production batch is large. It is required that after the part is formed, there will be no obvious material thickness thinning or cracks after testing.

As shown in the figure, the shearing and blanking process is used because the parts are mainly completed using a press and corresponding molds.

The purpose of code management for molds and measuring tools in the process card is to facilitate the production and technical management of molds and measuring tools. Similarly, for the needs of production and technical management, some companies usually arrange the blanking of stamping parts as an independent workshop, and their stamping processing operation instructions are also collectively referred to as blanking cards. Depending on their own characteristics, some companies may integrate the blanking of stamping parts with the stamping workshop. At this time, the blanking card and the stamping card may also be integrated into one.
