Introduction to DELEM DA-69T Automatic Mode

DELEM DA-66T

When you tap the navigation button Auto on the DELEM DA-69T control panel, the system switches to automatic production mode.

This mode allows for the active production program to commence with a simple press of the Start button. The DELEM DA-69T Automatic Mode is equipped with various parameters that can be adjusted to enhance production efficiency.

How to Optimize Production with DELEM DA-69T Automatic Mode?

In the DELEM DA-69T Automatic Mode, production proceeds automatically after pressing the Start button, executing each bend in sequence. When switching to a different product in the Products mode, which is stored in the library and previously used, you can immediately begin production by switching to Auto mode.

However, it’s essential to verify tool setups and positions, as indicated by the ‘check tools’ warning. The Auto mode displays the selected product and description at the header, allowing users to select and initiate bends directly. This streamlined approach ensures efficient optimization of production processes with the DELEM DA-69T Automatic Mode.

Understanding Auto Mode Parameters

In Auto mode, several parameters are available to users, enabling precise control over the production process. These parameters are critical for optimizing the functionality of the DELEM DA-69T Automatic Mode. Understanding and configuring these parameters according to your production needs can significantly impact your output quality and efficiency.

Following is a list of the available parameters in Auto mode.

  • Corrections
    • Angle 1 / Angle 2: Input corrections to address discrepancies in angle measurements. Adjustments to one side are auto-copied to the other, with manual changes possible. Corrections impact Y-axis and parallelism. Example: The angle correction should be entered as following examples indicate:
      • Programmed value of 90 degrees. Measured value of 92 degrees. Then it is required to program of correction of -2.
      • Programmed value of 90 degrees. Measured value of 88 degrees. Then it is required to program a correction of +2.
    • Y1 / Y2: Adjustments related to absolute programming or bottoming.
    • Auxiliary Axis: Manage corrections for auxiliary axis positions. Involves bend allowance calculations reflected in X-axis corrections. The auxiliary axis correction should be entered as following examples indicate:
      • Programmed value of 200 millimetres. Measured value of 202 millimetres. Then it is required to program a correction of -2.
      • Programmed value of 200 millimetres. Measured value of 198 millimetres. Then it is required to program a correction of +2.
    • Deflect: Applies corrections to the crowning device when present.
  • General Corrections
    • Thickness, Angle, Depth, Part Support, X-axes, Deflect: General adjustments for program-wide consistency, ensuring uniform quality across bends.
  • General Settings
    • Step Mode: Option to select Step or Auto, with Step pausing between each bend.
    • Stock & Repetition: Manage stock counts and repetition parameters for increased efficiency.

External Handterminal (optional)

Enhance the manual positioning feature of the DELEM DA-69T Automatic Mode by utilizing an optional external handterminal. This device enables the operator to remotely operate the handwheel, select axes and bends, and conveniently teach the program specific axes positions. This addition optimizes production by offering greater flexibility and precision in control, aligning perfectly with the DELEM DA-69T Automatic Mode’s capabilities.

Corrections View

This mode displays all corrections for every bend. Users can navigate through and modify corrections as needed. If a correction for α1 is entered then this value is, dependent on the settings parameter ‘Angle correction programming’, copied to the correction for α2, or keeping the delta between both corrections, or not influencing the correction for α2.

Different corrections for α2 can be entered in the field itself.

DELEM DA-69T Automatic Mode

For effective use of the DELEM DA-69T Automatic Mode, ensure the Angle correction database is activated. This activates the ‘Stored correction’ column, displaying database-stored correction values for each bend. New corrections automatically update the database. Use ‘All From Stored’ to apply database corrections to the current program, adjusting all bends accordingly.

Bend Allowance

Activate the Bend Allowance feature via the Settings mode to add bend allowance entries to the table. Enter bend allowance corrections based on active parameters to calculate differences between programmed and measured values, optimizing bending precision.

Calculate corrections, programming of measured angles

Leverage the ‘calculate corrections’ function in the correction window to derive corrections from measured angles. Input measured angles to see calculated corrections, then accept and transfer them to the main corrections screen. For multiple angle entries, corrections adapt to individual measurements, enabling precise adjustments, including absolute crowning correction for middle angles.

Integration with Protractor Device

Integrate an optional protractor device for direct measurements into correction fields, or use it within the ‘calculate corrections’ window for accuracy. Post-measurement, transfer corrections to the main corrections window for consistent results. For axes corrections, the DELEM DA-69T Automatic Mode offers a special view for easier adjustment across multiple axes.

Implement these features to enhance precision and efficiency in your production process using the DELEM DA-69T Automatic Mode.

Tool Setup View

The Tool Setup view shows the configuration required for selected products. Users can verify tool properties and positions, adjusting settings to ensure the best outcomes during production.

DELEM DA-69T Automatic Mode

In this tool setup view mode no changes can be made to the actual setup. If this is required one has to switch to the Tool Setup menu, outside Auto mode.

Diagnostics View

The diagnostics view mode in the DELEM DA-69T Automatic Mode is primarily for service purposes. It allows monitoring of independent axis activities and the control system’s I/O, providing valuable insights for diagnosing the bending process during rare operational issues. This feature can be crucial in optimizing production by ensuring efficient troubleshooting and maintenance.

Bumping Correction

For products involving bumping bends, the DELEM DA-69T Automatic Mode offers a bumping correction feature. This function allows for a general correction entry for bumping bends through a dedicated window. This function can be activated when the cursor is on the parameter for angle correction (‘corr. α1/α2’). It is only available if a product is loaded that contains a bumping bend.

With Bumping Corr. a new window appears in which the correction can be entered.

DELEM DA-69T Automatic Mode

When the general correction of an angle is altered, all individual corrections are recalculated. Conversely, changing an individual correction recalibrates the general correction.

Bumping corrections for α1 and α2 can be set independently. Adjustments to α1’s bumping correction can also automatically affect α2, maintain their correction difference, or leave α2 unchanged, depending on ‘Angle correction programming’ settings. Adjustments result in recalculating all corrections for α2. For specific adjustments to α2, use its bumping or separate corrections. This recalibration process is vital for optimizing production.
